Beginning Reader Collection
Learning to read is about sounds. Children learn to associate a sound with a letter. Then they learn to sound out words phonetically, first out loud and then silently as they become more proficient. Beginning readers learn when a vowel makes a short sound and a long sound. Next, they learn vowel and consonant digraphs and blends.
Reading comprehension, necessary to grasp the meaning of a sentence, a paragraph, or a story, should be taught along with phonics. Our resources cover both skill areas. Click on the button to take a closer look.
"Our mission is to help students reach their potential in English language arts through our quality resources."
